Sweet! Vintage petit point powder & rouge compact. Elgin American. c. 1940s. This pretty compact is in very good vintage condition. The petit point face is beautiful! The brass body is mostly squared, w/angled corners, edges beveled down w/a black enameled strip sandwiched in. Inside, brass plates cover double compartments of cream rouge & loose powder. The brass finish inside & on the bottom has some tarnished & worn spots, but it still displays well. The mirror is clear, w/only the barest lightly streaked places. Hardly visible at all.
