St Paul & Duluth Railroad Co 1878 Stock Certificate – 2 Shares – Steam Train For Sale

Original Saint Paul & Duluth Railroad Company stock certificate for two shares of $100 each, printed in black with ornate green “COMMON STOCK” overprint. The central vignette features a steam locomotive and farm buildings, flanked by river paddle steamers on either side — a classic example of late 19th-century railroad engraving.

The certificate carries fine typography and engraved borderwork typical of the American Bank Note Co. of the 1870s. Hand-signed by company officers and issued from Minnesota, this piece reflects the early development of the Lake Superior railway system connecting Duluth and St. Paul.
