C.H. Boller's Storefront510 Edmond StreetSt. Joseph, Missouri
Christian H. Boller sold a variety of items in his store, including tinware, stoves, and refrigerators that were chilled with ice. Display ads for his business began to appear in the St. Joseph Gazette as early as 1875. I've attached two of the shop's display ads. I've also attached Boller's obituary from August 1906.
The photo shows the store's clerks near the entrance, as well as workmen in the second-story windows where their tin shop was probably located.According to some research, the building at 510-512 Edmond Street was replaced in 1917. The building that currently stands is home to 1st Barrel Brewing.
Measures about 4 3/16" x 6". The photo is mounted to a board and has been unevenly trimmed. There are some small holes, marks, and discoloration. Wear to the corners and edges. No creases.
