Signed Letter From Jefferson Davis Thanking A Former Soldier From The Civil War for bearing arms and defending the Constitution and the rights of man. The letter is in very fragile condition. There are several breaks in the paper, but it is still in tact. The S at the end of Davis has become detached. I think it’s dated 1887. It was given to me by my grandmother about 35 years ago. It had been stored, folded in a book with some confederate bills. I don’t know much about it but I will try to answer any questions I can.
