First, it’s beautiful, with a unique and distinct warm color and tone.
Second, Texas Mesquite is one of the most stable woods in the world. It shrinks and swells very little with fluctuations in humidity. With a dark, rich color, it is the ideal choice for any project (and is often used in fine furniture, flooring, cabinets, etc.)
According to the Janka Hardness Scale, Mesquite is nearly twice as hard as oak (MESQ@ 2345 vs OAK @ 1290) making it extremely stable and high performing for durable usage.
From wet to dry Mesquite loses less than 5% of its overall volume while other woods lose in excess of 15%
