I'm sorry that shipping costs have gone up for both you and me. I lose money on shipping overall -- I pay more than I collect from my buyers. Here's the problem:
First, postage rates for packages have increased a LOT.The base cost for shipping ANY package has just about doubled in recent years.
Even shipping something that weighs as little as 2 ounces, I have to pay almost $6 to USPS!
On top of that, assesses me fees on whatever I collect from you, including for shipping.
So for something weighing just 2 ounces, I pay almost $6 to USPS and $1.20 to on top of that.
That means I have to collect $7 from you just to break even. I don't always charge buyers enough to pay my costs, so overall I lose money on shipping.
