Set of 4 vintage miniature pewter plates with hand-painted ceramic floral centers, each approx. 4 1/4 inches across.
Each plate has a wide pewter rim embossed with a scrolling leaf design, framing an inset ceramic medallion painted with a colorful bouquet of roses and wildflowers in red, blue, yellow and orange. Lovely as a wall grouping in a kitchen or breakfast nook, and they sit flat, so they are also charming as coasters, trinket or ring dishes. Four slightly different floral designs. Total diameter of each plate is 4 1/4" and the ceramic center is 2 3/4" in diameter.
Marks: the back of each plate carries the traditional angel touchmark (kneeling angel with trumpet), a mark used for fine pewter, most often by German and Austrian makers. Hanging loop on the back.
Condition: Good vintage condition. Pewter has a natural soft patina; the ceramic centers show light age crazing in the glaze (see photos). No chips noted. Please review all photos; they are part of the description.
