Set of 12 11” Heinrich & Co Selb Red & Raised Gold Leader Service Dinner Plates For Sale

ESTATE FRESHThis sale features a Fabulous 12 piece Heinrich and Co. Selb H & C \'Special Order\' porcelain red & gold service plates. Plates are encrusted with a gold floral design and gold beading. There is a gold ring around the base of the plate which indicates plates are custom made. Back of plates are an ivory color. There is a small chip on the rim of 1 plate as shown in photo 11. There is some gold beading missing on a few plates. Plates would display beautifully as Cabinet plates. Plates measures 11\" diameter. Plates are very heavy weighing a total of 16.1 lbs. Franz Heinrich was a Bavarian porcelain painter. In 1896, he built a melting pot in his parents’ house in Selb. Initially, he bought whiteware from local porcelain factories, but starting in 1901, he produced his own porcelain. Under his leadership, the Porzellanfabrik Heinrich Selb developed into one of the most important manufacturers in Germany. During the heyday, almost half of the German porcelain production came from the Hutschenreuther, Rosenthal, and Heinrich factories.
