Description & History
Schrade Cutlery operated under the Schrade Walden name from Walden, New York, for decades. The original company closed in 2004. After that date, some knives continued to be produced under the Schrade Walden name as commemorative or reproduction models. Collector records show that Camillus made certain patterns for Taylor Brands, including two-blade trappers stamped Schrade Walden NY USA with the Everlastingly Sharp etch. The SCW1194RX is one of these later models. It does not appear in original mid-20th-century Schrade Walden catalogs. The SCW prefix, bag packaging, and production timing place it in the post-2004 commemorative period.
This SCW1194RX has red stag scales, nickel silver bolsters, and a shield. The blades are marked Schrade Walden NY USA and carry the Everlastingly Sharp etch. One blade is stamped 1194. The knife is still in its original plastic bag labeled Schrade/Walden SCW1194RX with tissue wrapping. No box is present. The knife appears unused. It is a two-blade trapper of the type produced after the original Schrade factory closed.
Later Schrade Walden-style trappers are collected for their use of the traditional stamp, stag handles, and Everlastingly Sharp etch. Complete examples in original packaging, even without a box, are preferred. The combination of the SCW1194RX model, red stag handles, Schrade Walden NY USA stamp, and bag labeling places this knife within the post-2004 commemorative production of Schrade Walden-style pocket knives.
Schrade Walden SCW1194RX two-blade trapper. Red stag handles with original bag. About 4 in. closed. Later commemorative production. Made in U.S.A.
