ARTIFACT:This is a scarce World War II celluloid flight instructor badge for the United States Army Air Forces Training Service. The badge reads INSTRUCTOR AAFTS and shows a winged propeller at center.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/4" in diameter.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:Celluloid-wrapped tin.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal safety-style pin with tubular C catch.
CONDITION: The badge has some light wear and abrasions and minor fading. Some rust on the back. A few deep scratches on the front. Shown on the pictures. (JCP1)
