Santa Cruz Jeff Kendall “Snake” - Original 1989 Vintage Skateboard Deck For Sale

Original late-1980s Santa Cruz Jeff Kendall “Snake” skateboard deck, featuring the iconic snake graphic associated with Jeff Kendall and Santa Cruz Skateboards. This is an original period deck, not a modern reissue.ProvenancePurchased new by the current owner at the end of the 1980s and kept by the same owner ever since. The board was mounted and ridden only very lightly. The owner mainly skated slalom boards at the time and never really adapted to this wider American-style deck, which is why it saw very limited use and was preserved for more than three decades.ConditionVery good original vintage condition for a mounted and ridden deck. The bottom graphic remains exceptionally vivid and well preserved, with strong original colours and very limited overall wear for its age.The deck shows normal evidence of having been mounted and lightly ridden, including:some surface scratches and light abrasion to parts of the bottom graphic;mounting marks around the truck holes;minor wear to the edges;oxidation on some of the original hardware;wear to the plastic rails;original-era grip tape still fitted to the top.The photographs form an important part of the condition description and clearly show the existing marks and wear.No restoration, repainting or cosmetic refinishing has been carried out.DetailsBrand: Santa Cruz SkateboardsRider: Jeff KendallModel / Graphic: SnakeEra: 1989Type: Original vintage deckCountry marking: Santa Cruz U.S.A.Construction: Original period wood deckApprox. model dimensions: 30.1\" × 10\"Approx. wheelbase: 15\"Condition: Lightly ridden / well-preserved original vintage conditionOriginal owner: YesModern reissue: NoThe colourful bottom graphic, Santa Cruz manufacture mark, period shape and original setup details are all clearly visible in the photographs.Collector\'s NoteThe Jeff Kendall Snake is one of the distinctive late-1980s Santa Cruz pro-model graphics from the classic era of American skateboarding.Unlike many surviving examples that were heavily ridden, this deck retains a remarkably complete and colourful bottom graphic.
