This stunning Orthodox icon is a reproduction of the Lipensky Icon of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, painted in 1294 for the Church of Saint Nicholas on Lipno Island, near Veliky Novgorod. The original, one of Russia’s most revered icons, is now housed in the Novgorod State Museum and attributed to the iconographer Alexa Petrov.

🌊 A Story of Healing and Faith

Prince Mstislav Vladimirovich, gravely ill, turned in prayer to Saint Nicholas. In a vision, the saint promised healing through a round icon, which was miraculously discovered floating on Lake Ilmen. The prince was healed, and the church — and this icon — were commissioned in thanksgiving.
