TOTALLY RESTORED & TUNED STANLEY No.7 TYPE 11 CORRUGATEDSOLE PLANE 1910 - 1918
22" long , 2-7/8 wide , cutter 2-3/8" wide
3 PATENT DATES BEHIND FROG
work done
The body and frog were stripped then refinished. I use a superb finish which I apply many coats to get a very thick finish which is then baked on. I use a superb finish which is very durable.
All the hardware was cleaned and oiled. All tread holes are cleaned and oiled
The Rosewood Tote & knob are very nice. Both were cleaned then waxed several times to get a very smooth natural finish.
The sole was lapped "correctly". All lapping is done by hand on a large granite slab. The sole a some pitting on one side towards the heal its absolutely not a issue at all other than cosmetic.
Cheeks were lapped and the rail's were cleaned and smoothed out.
Frog face & seats lapped.
Cap iron was cleaned and lapped.
The Cutter was lapped and sharpened. Its extremely sharp and cuts superb shavings leaving a very smooth finish on the wood surface. I did replace the v logo cutter with a newer type Stanley cutter
The Lever cap was cleaned then lapped at its contact point.
This is a excellent plane that works superb which will be a asset to any work shop or collection.
Just a bit of reality versus flat out baloney . A corrugated sole is every bit as good as a smooth sole plane. Both make excellent smoothing planes. The corrugated sole was made to reduce the friction on the sole which it does quite well the larger the plane the more evident this becomes.
I have been selling my planes on for over 20 years and have always strived to put out a excellent plane at a very reasonableprice and back it with a """"100 percent satisfaction guarantee"""". I go through each plane completely which most importantly includes lapping them "correctly"
