This is a nice SET of GREETINGS postcards showing CHILDREN that would have been sent for BEST WISHES and FRIENDSHIP. The postcards show a YOUNG GIRL who is POSING for the photographer. The young girl is \"cute\" with their curly hair and nice smile. The postcards are Flat Printed and have a sepia (brown) background. The postcards were published by the British publisher, Valentine.
The publisher, Valentine’s Co. Ltd. (Valentine & Sons), was a major publishing house in Scotland and London, England (1825-1963).They were pioneers of photography and created prints, stereo-views, and postcards.They started producing Christmas cards in 1880, and a full line of postcards by 1896.They also published many view postcards for the tourist markets.They did so well that they opened offices all around the world and became an international player.In 1963, their business was purchased, and then that firm was sold to the USA company, Hallmark Cards, in 1980.
This is a nice set of antique Children postcards for the collector.The postcards are nicely detailed and pleasing to look at. These are truly collector items, and would be good to put into a collection. Overall, a niceselection of Children antique postcards at a reasonable price!
The postcards are UNPOSTED & POSTED with a cancel date of 1912. These were \"Printed In Germany\" during the \"Golden Age of Postcards\" (1908-1915 era). They have DIVIDED backs.
These are BETTER POSTCARDS and good for a collector.The postcards will keep their value! They are sleeved and in good condition. However, please expect some of these to have edge wear, smudges, stains, paper toning, cuts and creases because of their age (again, over 100 years old!).
