Fabrication & Attribution Details:Following the evacuation from the Gallipoli peninsula in late 1921, a vast contingent of General Wrangel's troops resettled into the Kingdom of Bulgaria. This specific badge is a text-book example of a Bulgarian-manufactured veteran issue. It features the classic pebble-textured (granular) field behind the raised Cyrillic text “ГАЛЛИПОЛИ” and dates “1920 / 1921”, coated with its original black protective lacquer finish.
The reverse features a highly distinct, crudely cut square brass tightening nut—a diagnostic signature of early Balkan hardware production for the White Russian émigré community.
Condition Report:The badge remains in excellent, untouched historical condition. It retains a beautiful, deep olive-brown natural patina across the brass borders and reverse face. The period black background lacquer is highly intact within the recessed grain, providing sharp visual contrast.
