Size: approx. 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 in (8.9 x 14 cm)
A studio portrait of an elegant young woman shown in profile against a dark backdrop. She wears a light-colored soft cap with a brim, a long belted overcoat with a high collar, a wide belt with a buckle, buttoned cuffs and gloves. Her curled hair and dramatic profile give the portrait a striking, cinematic look typical of the era. The back is printed in Russian "Открытое письмо" (Postcard) with a divided back layout.
CONDITION
Original antique photo postcard, about 100 years old. Unposted, with no writing on the back. Please note:
- Numerous small white specks and hair-like white marks across the image. Some appear to be part of the original print (from dust on the negative), others are surface marks (see close-up photos).
- Fine surface scratches, most visible on the lower part of the coat when viewed at an angle.
- Light silvering (a metallic sheen typical of old photos) along the edges, visible at an angle.
- A tiny white spot near the bottom center of the image.
- Light wear to the corners and small nicks along the edges.
- The back is lightly toned, with a small dark mark in the top left corner and a few tiny spots.
- The card is intact, with no tears, creases or missing pieces.
