All time toy classic! This dime store display set contains 36 genuine 1950's wooden tops and cords and a sign to tape in the front window of the store. Called,Fast SpinnersbyRoyal Tops. No plastic here! The spinning wood top is a classic toy that was popular from the 1800's through the mid 1950's when plastic toys took over.

This wood top has the typical characteristic inverted tear-drop shape. It's 1 ¼ inches high and comes with the string cord. They come in red, yellow, blue and green.Toys like this were fun.Kids used to have contests to see who could keep theirs spinning the longest. Once the fancy plastic toys started coming out, classics like these died out never to be made again. The side of the box says, Royal Tops Mfg. Company, 37-02 36th Ave, Long Island City 1, New York.

Royal was the top name in yo-yo's and wood tops from the 1930's through the 1950's. They knew how to market their product. The outstanding multi color display box has a fold out marquis back adorned with their top! It is 7 inches by 8 ½ inches, 1 ½ inches thick. It says,Fast Spinners ~ Hardwood Top and Cord ~ Durable ~ Balanced ~ Long Spin. The inside is a nest with 3 dozen holes that hold the tops, and a front tray that holds 36 cords of assorted colors.

The display set also includes the 6 ¾ by 8 ½ inch Store Front Window Sign (shown in photo above) that saysAvailable Insideand features an extraordinary illustration of their top. It's a real eye grabber. You get it all. 36 genuine 1950's Royal Tops, 36 cords, store window sign and the counter top store display box with back marquis.
