• Giant War Map:Excellent condition.No tears, scribbles, pinholes, or tape repairs. Remarkably, there iszero splitting or thinningat the sixteen cross-fold intersections—a rare finding for an 80-year-old paper map. The reverse is clean and bright white.
• Atlas Interior:The maps are ingreat condition. The colors are vibrant and there are no handwritten notes or dog-ears.
• Historical Tanning:There is a distinct section ofacid-transfer browningin the middle of the atlas (Pages 24-25) caused by a historical newspaper clipping kept inside. This stain is confined to the lower margins and does not obscure cartographic data.
• Binding & Spine:Underneath the DJ, thepebble-grain red cloth bindingis in near-fine condition. Thesilver-gilt titleson the spine are 100% intact, crisp, and bright.
• Dust Jacket (DJ):The original pictorial DJ is inpoor conditionwith significant paper loss at the top. It has beenstabilized by being affixed to a stock paper backingfor preservation.
