A true survivor from the days of the honor system!
Very unusual vintage Tom’s Foods MINI-SNAX snack honor box / countertop advertising display featuring original Tom’s graphics and “DROP A COIN HERE” lettering.
These boxes were designed for an honor-system setup where customers could select a snack and deposit payment into the box.
This example retains many of the details that give it great display character, including:
* Original Tom’s triangle advertising logos
* MINI-SNAX graphics
* DROP A COIN HERE lettering and coin opening
* Original red carrying handle
* Interior snack dividers/shelving
* Textured exterior finish
* Fantastic original age and patina
CONDITION: This is an unrestored vintage piece and is being sold as found. It shows considerable age, wear, scratches, discoloration and other cosmetic imperfections. There is damage/separation around portions of the lower trim, and the unit appears to be incomplete/missing components from its original configuration. Please carefully review all photos for condition and exactly what is included.
Not perfect. Not restored. Just a true vintage survivor.
I have had difficulty finding another exact Tom’s MINI-SNAX example, making this a particularly interesting piece for a collector of Tom’s Foods memorabilia, vintage advertising, vending/honor boxes, general-store advertising or Americana.
Sold as-is for display, collecting or restoration.
