This piece is a true time capsule of textile history. A thrifty artisan compiled an incredible variety of period clothing scraps, featuring genuine mid-century heavy polyester double-knits, textured jacquard wovens, and classic retro geometric and floral novelty prints. The vibrant color palette bursts with iconic 70s hues, including hunter green, bright orange, neon lime, deep purple, royal blue, and golden yellow.
True to the era's utility bedding style, it is assembled as a traditional tied comforter. Small, structural thread ties hold the heavy patchwork top securely to its interior batting and its full-sized backing, which is made from a coordinating red-and-white miniature gingham check fabric. Because it is constructed from heavy-weight polyester knits, this blanket offers an incredibly satisfying, substantial weight—acting much like a modern weighted blanket while retaining its soft, flexible drape.
