Rare The Sagamore Hotel Long Lake 9\" Plate - Restaurant Ware Adirondacks For Sale

Rare vintage 9\" round vitrified china plate with Indian head logo, made by Syracuse China for The Sagamore hotel in Long Lake,which opened in 1883, then burned to the ground in 1889, then was rebuilt and reopened in 1894 and in operation until closure in 1946. In fine condition save for minor light utensil marks, otherwise no chips or cracks, lettering and logo crisp.Very scarce - I have dealt in Adirondack hotel china (Lake Placid Club, Loon Lake House, The Antlers, and so on) for over two decades, as I grew up in the area, and this is among the rarest - it was already quite rare 25 years ago, and now is exceedingly difficult to find. The Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake has a large collection of china from Adirondack camps and hotels, but not a single example of Long Lake\'s Sagamore.
