Rare Tea Pot Almost 100 year old SMF Schramberg Germany Eva Zeisel Gobelin
She is in bad shape. Her Spout has been repaired. She has a hairline crack about half way around her belly. She has several flea bites. A black spot on inside bottom. She cannot be used but would still sit pretty in a collection. See pics.
This is an Eva Zeisel for Schramberg SMF of Germany, Geometric Gobelin 2 Style Covered Sugar, Circa1928-1930. Eva Zeisel worked for Schramberg SMF Pottery from 1928 to 1930 in theBlack Forest region of Germany. She was way ahead of her time with her shapesand patterns and was known for her geometric patterns and tea sets using theBauhaus Art Deco Design. She has quite a history in ceramics in Europe andlater the United States and designed for Hall China Company, Red Wing Pottery,Rosenthal China and Castelton China to name a few. Her works are in theMetropolitan Museum and many other noted museums in the U.S. and Europe. Shedied in 2011 at the age of 106!
