For sale is a rather rare near pair of wonderful Scottish terrier Rosenthal Selb - Plossberg Bavaria Germany porcelain bookends from a very important collection.
Provenance: William "Bill" Berry (Parsippany NJ). World renowned breeder of Scottish Terrier dogs of the esteemed Motherwell Kennels. His Scottish Terriers have won numerous awards in the industry including Best in Show at Westminster. Berry was also President of The Scottish Terrier Club of Greater New York.
Bill was the breeder of Miss Beazley, the Scottish Terrier owned by President George W. Bush and Laura Bush while in the White House.
Contents of William Berry's estate were handled by JMW sales and Estate Services which handled dispersion of the estate contents related to William Berry's Scottish Terrier related artwork and collectibles.
These Scottish terrier dog figurine bookends are certainly a harder pair to acquire. Each having the Rosenthal under-glazed green mark inside of the raised fleur de lis wreath
One having an additional "W" label which is most likely a retailers label.
One Scotty dig is black and the other is a dark to medium gray. When joined together, they make a charming scene of two dogs touching their paws.
One model 719. The other marked 720. As a pair as they have always been in Mr. William Berry's esteemed Scottish terrier collection.
Condition: The pair both in overall excellent condition with no noted chips cracks, or hairlines anywhere. The colors appear to be in excellent condition as well.
