Rare Original Atari Nolan Bushnell Signed Flyer 1970’s JSA Authentication :

“Everyone who has taken a shower has had an idea. It's the person who gets out of the shower, dries off, and does something about it, that makes a difference.”

-Nolan Bushnell

On June 28, 1972 Nolan Bushnell with fellow engineer, Ted Dabney, have an idea to start the first video game company and they called it Atari. That same year, with the little money they had, they manage to release their first arcade game called PONG, which was a huge success.

In 1976, after having success with their Pong Arcade game, they figured out how to build a home version that can be connected to a television, but they couldn't find any buyers that where interested, until Sears department store decided to take a chance and it. They system did well and the following year Atari released their groundbreaking Atari 2600 that utilized game cartridges, a concept that didn't exsist at the time.

One of the young engineers, working for Bushnell at Atari, was non other than the future founder of Apple Computers, Steve Jobs. Up to this point Atari was largely self funded but needed capital to develop its new console. In 1976 Warner Communications acquired the game company and in late 1978 Bushnell left the company he founded to start a pizza business. But not just any pizza business, he founded Chucke'Cheese which turned out to be another grand slam.

Nolan Bushnell is a true American entrepreneur who not only got it right once he got it right twice. Known as The Godfather of the Video Game industry for good reason. This piece features the original PONG flyer used to market Atari's first arcade game. The flyer is signed "Nolan Bushnell", in his own hand, and in green fiber-tip pen.

We've included this purposeful quote by Bushnell that speaks to how he lived his life and explains how he's achieved his success.

“Everyone who has taken a shower has had an idea. It's the person who gets out of the shower, dries off, and does something about it, that makes a difference.”

-Nolan Bushnell
