This is a New in Box Japan-made Cold Steel X2 Voyager, catalog 29XXCS. Serrated 6\" clip point, about 13-1/4\" open. Blade: X2 VOYAGER / MADE IN JAPAN and COLD STEEL. Black Zytel, steel pocket clip, lanyard hole. Factory bubble wrap and the original blue box included. Opened only for these photos.

If the listing does not say X2 and 6\", it is a different Voyager. Medium and Large Japan pieces are the common 3\" and 4\" knives. This is the discontinued oversized Japan lockback. No sheath. Box has storage crush and corner wear.

Condition Notes

Knife appears unused and came in factory bubble. Box is the original 29XXCS carton and shows crush, wrinkle, and corner wear from storage. No sheath — X2 Voyagers were sold as clipped pocket folders. Judge the box from the photos.

Description & History

Most “Japan Voyager” listings are the ordinary Medium or Large: 3\" or 4\" blades, 7–9\" open. Those are the knives that sell in the $40–$120 range. This is not that knife.

The X2 Voyager was the top of the Japan clip-point line — 6\" blade, about 13-1/4\" open, 7-1/4\" closed. Cold Steel marketed it as the largest Voyager they made. Japan production, lockback, Zytel, steel clip. The X2 size was dropped and was never brought back in this form. Later Voyagers are Taiwan / Tri-Ad and stop shorter. Collectors looking for the Japan-made oversized Voyager want the X2 stamp, the 6\" clip, and the 13\" open chassis.

29XXC is the plain-edge X2. 29XXCS is this serrated twin. Same handle, same lock, same clip, same Japan stamp. The S is the only factory difference that belongs in the title.

Steel on Japan X2s is Japanese stainless. Early press called it AUS-8. Later dealer copy, including KnifeCenter on the 29XXCS, listed VG-1. This blade is not steel-stamped either way.
