Rare Interesting Vintage Antique Roupa Woman Figural Ashtray 8-1/2" Tall For Sale

For your consideration is an old and very interesting Roupa woman ashtray. It is marked Roupa Woman on the front. It measures approximately 8-1/2" tall, the base is 8" long and 5" wide. I'm not sure about the metal - it does not take a magnet. I'm leaning it is pewter, aluminum or low grade silver. If there was an ashtray, it is missing. I tried to find one like it online. I did find one that was not a Roupa woman but looked like it might have been done by the same artist and they dated it early 20th century. I am not at all an expert in dating this but I would guess 1920s to 1950s. The base is the only thing not made of metal.

Condition: The base on top and bottom has age wear and scratching. The holder for the ashtray has some wear and a little bending on the edges which makes me think pewter because this is what pewter does this with age. In addition, there is wear in the black finish if the top and bottom were ever the same color. The bottom has a place that looks like a chip, but I think it's just finish wear because it is not rough (see last gallery image).

To me it is a very quality African style figure and a very unusual, interesting piece.
