This rare miniature Siamese white elephant flag on natural silk, measuring just 2×1.5 inches on a 4-inch pole — an exceptionally fine example of Thai royal iconography. The design, featuring a white elephant with teal and red ceremonial caparison standing on a white ground panel, corresponds to the Siamese national flag used during the Rattanakosin period approximately 1824–1916, before Rama VI replaced it with the modern Thai tricolor. The white elephant (chang puak) was the supreme symbol of Siamese royal power and sovereignty, making this flag one of the most significant emblems in Southeast Asian history. Presented in an ornate gold gilt frame, this miniature is consistent with fine Thai ceremonial or diplomatic objects from the late 19th to early 20th century.
