Alejandro Savin (March 29, 1851 - April 23, 1938)Pioneer Capitalist and Merchant of California and Mexico. The son of Adolf and Guadalupe (Cota) Savin of San Diego, his father was from France, and his mother was from Mexico. Also known as Alexander, he lived in Ventura in the early 1870s and came to Los Angeles in 1874. He was successful as a merchant and businessman in Los Angeles, San Diego, and especially in Mexico in Ensenada and Tijuana, where he operated a popular cigar, curios and souvenir store called Bazaar Mexicano during the 1890s and early 1900s. His first wife was Manuela Garfias, daughter of Manuel Garfias and Luisa Avila. They married in the 1870s, and after her death in 1919 he married Josefa de la Guerra in 1920.
The mounted photo has some wear and measures approximately 5 15/16 x 4 15/16 inches.
The round image measures 3 1/2 inches in diameter.
