incredibly well-preserved, authentic piece of late-19th-century industrial history. This is a rare, original half-dozen (6 tubes) bundle of John Moncrieff \"Scotch\" Gauge Glass Tubes, manufactured at the famous North British Glassworks in Perth, Scotland.
These tubular glass water gauges were the global gold standard during the golden age of steam, widely relied upon to visually monitor water levels on steam locomotives, stationary boilers, and heavy industrial machinery.
Condition & Preservation Notes:
• Intact Original Wrapper: This bundle is exceptionally rare because it remains in its original paper wrapping, bound by the vintage factory twine. It has not been opened, keeping the historical presentation completely intact.
• Stunning Graphic Label: The primary paper label is remarkably legible and prominently displays the Moncrieff maker\'s signature alongside detailed engravings of their 19th-century World\'s Fair prize medals—including the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition and the 1880 Melbourne International Exhibition.
• Stamped Factory Markings: The end of the wrapper features the original hand-stamped size label indicating \"12 x 5/8\"
(12\" length by 5/8\" diameter).Perth
