# Extremely Rare Antique c. 1910 Tures Mfg. Co. No. 24G Portable Gas Lamp
## Patented January 28, 1908 — Manufactured in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Up for sale is an incredibly scarce piece of early American lighting history: an authentic Tures Manufacturing Company No. 24G Portable Gas Table Lamp. While common brands like Coleman dominate the market, survivors from the highly innovative, smaller Tures firm out of Milwaukee are exceptionally rare and highly sought after by serious pressure lamp collectors.
This lamp features the iconic curved hollow-tube frame design that feeds fuel upward through the arm before vaporizing it over the burner assembly. The original brass manufacturer's badge is intact on the main vertical pillar, clearly stamped: *"THE TURES LIGHT... PAT. JAN. 28, 08 / MFD BY THE TURES MFG. CO. MILWAUKEE, WIS."*
### Dimensions:
* Total Height: 23.5 inches
* Total Width: Approx. 10 inches
### Condition Report & Component Details:
* **Overall State:** This lamp is being sold in **untested, as-found antique condition** for restoration, parts, or historical display.
* **Plating & Body:** The original nickel plating shows a gorgeous, honest, aged dark patina with light pitting, surface wear, and oxidation consistent with a 115-year-old utilitarian piece. It has been left entirely uncleaned and unpolished to preserve its historical integrity for the buyer.
* **Fount/Base & Valves:** The lower fuel fount is solid. The upper overhead generator loop, complete with its original fuel control wheel, turns/functions mechanically but has not been tested for pressure or fuel flow.
* **Included Separate Piece:** The original decorative, crown-style brass burner gallery/shade holder is included as a loose piece (shown in photos). It shows typical age-related darkening and minor wear but features beautiful ornate filigree work.
* **Missing Components:** To be completely operational or display-ready, this lamp will require a replacement glass chimney, an outer shade (originally styled with an opal glass shade), and a modern or period-correct mantle.
This is a premier centerpiece item for any advanced collection of early thermal, gravity, or hollow-wire gas lighting systems. Please study the high-resolution photographs carefully to evaluate the exact cosmetic condition and completeness.
