Offered here is a large laminated poster advertising the 2023 MTA NYC Bus Operations Roadeo, held September 23 and 24, 2023, at the Orchard Beach parking lot in Pelham Bay Park, Bronx, New York.
The colorful poster features the official 2023 NYC Bus Roadeo “Back in the Saddle” design, including an MTA bus, the New York City skyline, American flag imagery and traffic cones. It also lists the event location, dates and operating hours of 0700 to 1700 hours.
This is not a commercially produced decorative transit print. It is an event poster made for display in connection with the actual 2023 NYC Bus Operations Roadeo. These appear to have been produced in-house in very limited quantities for display at MTA/NYC Bus facilities, potentially including the city’s bus depots and the Roadeo event location. The exact number produced is unknown, but this type of temporary event material was not intended for widespread public distribution and many examples were likely removed or discarded after the event.
The poster measures approximately 36 inches tall by 25 inches wide and is laminated. Its large size, bright MTA colors and detailed Roadeo emblem make it an impressive display piece.
Condition:
The poster is in used, previously displayed condition. It has some minor waviness and curling from storage, along with handling wear. Four small pinholes are present from the poster being hung (Shown in the photos). The laminated surface may show glare, reflections and light surface wear when viewed under direct lighting. It has not been trimmed. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the condition description.
This is a difficult MTA event poster to replace and an unusual opportunity to obtain a large piece connected directly to NYC Bus Operations and its annual operator skills competition.
The poster will be carefully rolled along its shorter side and shipped in a sturdy mailing tube with protective material at both ends. It will not be folded for shipping.
