To raise funds for its creation and the legendary 2002-2003 "Ring of Fire" World Tour, the iconic Great Alaskan Bowl Company donated exactly 200 of their premium, one-piece solid Alaskan Paper Birch wood bowls to serve as frame bases. Local multi-cultural and indigenous communities gathered in ceremony in Chickaloon, Alaska, to hand-stretch and lace these limited "Baby Drums." This is one of those original 200 fund-raising pieces.Craftsmanship & Details:• Drum Frame: Turned from a single piece of solid Alaskan Paper Birch, bearing the official dark burned pyrography stamp on the interior wood: "The Great Alaskan Bowl Company - bowl.com".• Drum Head: Genuine natural rawhide stretched tight and secured via a complex, heavy-duty star-burst rawhide lacing system that creates a perfect integrated carrying handle.• Dimensions: Drum face measures exactly 13 inches in diameter.• Accessories: Comes with its original wooden mallet/beater featuring a vibrant violet padded fabric head, and retains the ultra-rare original printed project paper story card detailing "The GrandMother Drum Project - The Heartbeat of One Family, One Earth - Ring of Fire Tour - BABY DRUM".Sound & Resonance:Despite its compact 13-inch size, the combination of a thick solid-wood bowl chamber and master-tensioned rawhide produces a phenomenally deep, warm, and resonant bass tone with long-lasting vibrations, ideal for personal meditation, sound baths, or shamanic rituals.Condition Report:Excellent vintage pre-owned museum-grade condition. The rawhide head is beautifully intact, tightly tensioned, and free of punctures, dry-rotting, or loose edges. The birch bowl frame is solid with no cracks or splits. The interior brand marking is perfectly legible. The paper story card shows minor vintage age-toning but is completely intact with no rips. An immaculate estate piece.
