Vintage 1960 Holt-Howard Artist / Painter Santa ceramic candle holder, made in Japan. This hard-to-find mid-century Christmas piece features a cheerful winking Santa holding an artist\'s paintbrush in one hand and painter\'s palette in the other. His sack at the rear serves as the candle holder. The whimsical face, curly beard, bright red suit and hand-painted details are classic Holt-Howard Christmas design.
The underside is clearly marked © 1960 HOLT-HOWARD and retains the original Holt-Howard Japan foil label. Approximately 4 inches tall. Condition: Very nice vintage condition overall with age-related surface and paint wear, including some small areas of paint loss as visible in the photos.
The paintbrush is broken off, but present. Appears to be a pretty clean break, I believe this could easily be repaired and restored. Please see photos for condition.
