Item Description:
Up for sale is an incredibly rare, museum-quality piece of 20th-century political history. This is an original 1959 Cuban Revolution celebratory souvenir tumbler glass, preserved in remarkable condition.
The glass features the text: "¡VIVA CUBA LIBRE! Recuerdo de la REVOLUCIÓN TRIUNFANTE ENERO 1º de 1959." It features the black-printed portraits and names of the core figures of the early revolutionary government: Fidel Castro, E. "Che" Guevara, Camilo Cienfuegos, and Manuel Urrutia.
Historical Significance:
Manuel Urrutia served as President for only a brief period in early 1959 before resigning over political disputes and fleeing into exile. Because of this, his likeness was rapidly removed from all Cuban historical items and iconography. Souvenirs featuring his name and portrait alongside Castro and Che are exceptionally scarce, as this specific design was only produced for a very short window of time in early 1959.
An indispensable addition for collectors of political memorabilia, militaria, Cuban history, or rare mid-century advertising/promotional glassware.
Condition:
Excellent vintage condition. The glass is clear with no chips, cracks, or heavy clouding. The red and black graphics remain exceptionally crisp and legible with very minimal wear. Please review all photos for exact measurements and details.
Shipping:
Will be double-boxed and shipped with extreme care using heavy-duty bubble wrap to ensure this historic artifact arrives safely.
