While standard-sized Victorian trade cards from this era are occasionally found, these oversized store display signs were meant to hang inside storefronts or tobacco shops to catch the eyes of customers. Because they were printed on fragile paper/cardstock and exposed to store environments, very few have survived.
This stunning commercial color lithograph features a detailed colonial or Georgian-era scene of three refined gentlemen gathered around a tavern table. They are seen enjoying long clay pipes, drinking wine, playing cards, and keeping score on a vintage cribbage board. The scene prominently highlights a red **Old Judge Goodwin & Co.** tobacco box and an open package on the table.
