Vintage a d rare 1950s pyro glass ashtray from Bimbo's 365 Club, a legendary live music venue and former nightclub located in San Francisco, California.

The History Behind the Ashtray

• The Venue: Founded in 1931 by Agostino Giuntoli (nicknamed "Bimbo"), the club originally opened at 365 Market Street before moving to its iconic location at 1025 Columbus Avenue in North Beach during the 1950s. It remains one of San Francisco's most enduring and historic entertainment institutions.

• The Girl in the Fish Bowl: The graphic in the center depicts "Dolfina," the club's famous optical illusion act. Visitors in the mid-20th century would peer into a viewing tank or box in the lounge and see what appeared to be a tiny, nude mermaid swimming around in a fishbowl. In reality, it was a clever system of mirrors reflecting a full-sized dancer performing in a hidden room below.
