ITEM #3321 This sphere,which is a combination of fuchsite (green) and ruby (red), comes fromIndia. It was cut into a sphere shape and polished to show off thebeautiful rubies embedded in the fuchsite matrix. Ruby is actually themineral corundum that forms hexagonal crystals. Fuchsite is a form ofgreen mica. This material may fluoresce under ultraviolet light,depending upon the chemical makeup and impurities. The dark blue/greenrings around the ruby crystals is kyanite.

This spheremeasures 1.91 in diameter. It weighs 6.45ounces is a nice hand-sized Red Creekjasper heart that comes from somewhere in China. It comes in so manypatterns and colors that it reminds me of ocean jasper. The heart isperfectly cut and polished. Why or how it has all the red and black lines is a mystery to me. IT IS BEAUTIFUL!
