RARE WWI / 1920s French Officer Horizon Blue Tunic - Rue de Rivoli Tailor1920s Film PropItem DescriptionUp for sale is a good film prop from the early 20th-century, patterned as a French Military Officer’s Service Dress Tunic.Tailored from the iconic Horizon Blue (Bleu Horizon) heavy serge wool, this custom-made piece dates from the World War I to early 1920s era. The manufacturer also made military uniform, but the details on this suggest it was a film prop. Further, it came with other French cinema related items.I have not identified possible movies from that era, maybe a sharp-eyed expert can.Some details:

• Rank Insignia: Features two original, horizontally pinned five-pointed metal stars on the lower sleeve cuffs,
• Bespoke Tailor Stamp: The interior cotton sateen lining bears a crisp, clear ink stamp from an elite Parisian master tailor: \"Louis Rouland, 12 Rue de Rivoli, Paris.\"
• Government Contract Buttons: The front features polished brass dome buttons with the crisp reverse backmark stamping of \"A.M. & Cie, Paris\" (Anglade, Masson & Compagnie), a premier French military hardware contractor.
• Construction Details: Buttons are shank-style secured internally via eyelets. The underside of the pocket flaps features contrasting tan canvas backing and fine piped trim detailing.

Condition ReportThis tunic is in good, honest, used vintage condition with excellent display potential.

• Wool: Strong structural integrity with a beautiful, rich color. Shows minor, typical period moth tracking/pinholes (most notably a small hole on the upper right shoulder curve).
• Wear: Honest fraying/wear present along the edges of the scalloped breast pocket flaps, exposing the interior threads from genuine historical use.
• Lining: The reddish-brown cotton sateen lining is completely intact with period hand-stitched modifications along the midsection waist seam.
• Missing Items: Missing the original collar patches (pattes de col); button configurations have minor field variances as shown in photos.
