RARE VINTAGE SPANISH JULIAN GALVIN RACHET KNIFE STAG:
$1150.00

Vintage Julián Galván 7" Navaja – Handmade Spanish Exhibition Folding KnifeIt. Julián Galván Hellín (1922–1992) – Renowned Master Craftsman. Santa Cruz de Mudela, Spain. Circa 1960s – 1980s. Ornately acid-etched carbon steel with traditional Spanish scroll and floral motifs. Authentic curved horn/antler with polished metallic bolsters. Traditional Spanish palanquilla (billet/pull-tab spring lock).

This is an exceptional, authentic piece of Spanish cutlery history, exhibition-grade navaja handcrafted by the legendary master blacksmith Julián Galván Hellín of Santa Cruz de Mudela, Spain. Julián Galván is widely regarded by European collectors as one of the finest Spanish master knife makers of the 20th century, famously winning the national first prize in Cutlery Craftsmanship in 1974. Because his knives were built entirely by hand without mass-production machinery, authentic pieces of this scale are incredibly scarce. This specific example features a beautifully contoured horn handle paired with brilliant, freehand acid engravings on the blade—fine floral and scroll artwork traditionally executed by the Galván family.

The base of the blade (ricasso) is deeply and cleanly stamped with the highly sought-after "J. GALVAN" maker's mark. Locking mechanics very solid, zero blade play or wobble. The internal spring remains exceptionally robust, and the traditional palanquilla locking tab functions. The detailed etchings remain crisp and highly visible. The natural horn handle is in beautiful structural condition with an elegant patina.

A premium, investment-grade heirloom piece perfect for advanced collectors of European edged weapons, historical folding knives, or traditional Spanish artisan crafts.
