A remarkable piece of Disney history that was never available to the public.This original Tokyo DisneySea Grand Opening Project Team Member shadowbox commemorates the opening of what many Disney fans consider the finest Disney theme park ever built. The engraved presentation plaque is dated September 4, 2001—Tokyo DisneySea's official opening day—and was created for a member of the project team that helped bring the park to life.Measuring approximately 16" x 13", this beautifully designed display features a detailed illustrated map of Tokyo DisneySea along with dimensional character sculptures including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Genie, and Abu surrounding the Tokyo DisneySea Grand Opening centerpiece. It's a striking display with incredible detail throughout.This piece came from the collection of a Disney project team member and was never sold to the public. Presentation pieces recognizing the individuals who built Disney parks rarely become available, especially those celebrating the opening of Tokyo DisneySea.The decorative gold shadowbox frame features an intentional crackle finish as part of its original design. There are scattered scuffs to the frame, with the most noticeable wear along the bottom edge. The reverse shows residue from a previous wall mounting. The recipient's name has been covered in the photos for privacy, but the plaque is individually engraved to the original Project Team Member.
