The obverse features the crowned bust of the King facing left, with \"Edward VIII King & Emperor\" around the edge and the reverse a standing figure of Britannia holding out a laurel wreath toward the facade of Westminster Abbey, with \"Coronation 1937\" below and is finished off in its original purple presentation case, marked with the Crown and Coronation 1937 along with the approval card by the F.B.I. arts committee acting in consultation..... Presented for sale is this Superb Rare Original King Edward VIII 1937 Coronation Bronze Medallion Cased by Turner & Simpson.
This superb bronze medal or medallion was produced to celebrate His Majesty King Edward VIII Coronation in 1937, the King abdicated the throne in December 1936 to marry Wallis Simpson and King George VI was Crowned instead. Measuring 50mm in diameter approx. it is in excellent used condition with no dents, dings, splits or repairs and weighs 65.4grams by my electronic scales.
