A lovely and very special example of its type. It’s a very attractive version which would make a great addition to any collection of the Jag range of mascots. Definitely one for the Jag enthusiast.

CLASSIC STABLE
Classic Stable Ltd are well known for their high end decanters in the form of a car front grill including the Rolls Royce vertical slat radiator with miniature Spirit of Ecstasy, the Mercedes mesh grill with 3 pointed star and the Jaguar grill with the iconic leaping cat etc. These items can command many many hundreds of pounds and very often they achieve 4 figures. They can often be found in sales with BONHAMS and alike.
Originally Classic Stable products sold through high end retail establishments such as Harrods of London back in the 1960s.
In addition to their decanters their legacy also includes the Jaguar bonnet mascot which they mounted on a cast metal base. Classic Stable used only original genuine mascots
Unfortunately Classic Stable are no longer in business.
CONDITION
There is NO damage to the mascot. There are however some small surface marks/scratches and some very small pitting to the base and the cat. The whole thing would benefit from a clean/polish. I The mascot is sat in front of you it looks very nice indeed. The chrome plating retains a lovely aged soft glow.
Overall it’s a really nice thing and a relatively rare example.
