SANTA POPS OUT OF A CHIMNEY – RARE EARLY CHRISTMAS JACK-IN-THE-BOX! – ALL ORIGINAL c1915
Offering a fantastic German Santa Jack-In-The-Box - a wonderful toy to add to any doll, teddy bear or just under the Christmas tree. It is an adorable small size of 3" closed and measures 6" tall with the lid open.Santa has a lovely full rabbit fur beard that is fully intact. He has a paper mache head and his face is hand-painted with blue eyes. His face has some soil on the cheeks and forehead. He wears a red felt coat with a wool trim.
His condition is very good including the chimney print paper which has very minor wear. It is in good working order and the box closes with its nail and metal hook.
The bottom has a very faint, faded stamp that is hard to decipher and I believe it says "Made in Germany". These early Santa toys are hard to come by today and this one has lots of character!See all photos that describe it best.
