DESCRIPTION:
Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible authentic Pre-Columbian clay effigy vessel originating from West Mexico. This exceptional piece features detailed, hand-molded three-dimensional animals (lizards or frogs) scaling the shoulders of the pot. The body of the vessel is further decorated with hand-painted geometric triangular patterns and fine line detailing.This piece comes directly out of a prominent estate collection put together during the 1970s and 1980s, offering excellent historic chain of custody and legal compliance. The bottom of the pot retains its old collector/dealer pricing and inventory stickers ($750 inventory price).CONDITION:
Excellent, stable ancient condition. The pot exhibits incredible authentic age indicators, including surface pitting, rich mineral encrustations, and historic patina consistent with long-term burial. The molded animal figures remain remarkably intact with great detail. No signs of modern restoration, breakage, or repair.
