Pentel introduced the Kerry in 1971, and \"Kerry, since 1971\" is stamped on every cap as a nod to that heritage. It\'s the only mechanical pencil built around a removable cap in the style of a fountain pen — the cap protects the tip in a pocket or bag, then posts onto the back to actuate the lead-advance mechanism when you\'re ready to write. Each one is hand-assembled with watchmaker-level precision, and this Champagne Gold finish was produced as a 2013 limited edition rather than a standard catalog color, making it harder to find than the core Kerry lineup.
