A gorgeous cabinet-quality teacup and saucer by Paragon, England, featuring a hand-painted deep pink rose medallion at the center of both cup and saucer, surrounded by an elaborate gold gilt scroll and lace pattern on a cream ground, and framed by a striking turquoise-blue band with a delicate gold vine border. The scalloped rim is finished in gold, and the cup features a graceful gold-accented handle.
Maker & Age: Marked on the base with Paragon's gold printed backstamp reading "By Appointment to H.M. The Queen & H.M. Queen Mary, Fine Bone China, England." This is Paragon's double royal warrant mark, used only while the firm held appointments to both Queen Elizabeth (the Queen Consort, later Queen Mother) and Queen Mary simultaneously — dating this piece to approximately 1939–1949.
