Beautiful pair of antique French Sèvres-style porcelain table lamps featuring portraits of Queen Marie Antoinette and her close friend and confidante, Princesse de Lamballe, believed to be depicted in the companion portrait.
Both portraits are signed A. Donis and framed within elaborate gilt medallions, surrounded by delicate floral garlands, beautifully rendered cherubs, and intricate hand-painted decoration. These were once decorative vases made into lamps.
The lamps feature an elegant pink, white, and gold color palette, richly decorated porcelain bodies, classical pedestal bases, and ornate bronze-tone metal mounts. Each is fitted with a double-light brass socket assembly with pull chains.
Condition: Beautiful antique condition with age-related wear, including crazing to the porcelain glaze, particularly visible on one portrait, minor chipping to the porcelain bases, and some wear to the gilding and metal fittings consistent with age. The electrical wires have been cut, and both lamps will require rewiring before use. Please examine all photographs carefully for condition details.
Measurements: Approximately 32–33 inches tall overall, including finials.
Sold as a matching pair. Lampshades are not included.
Packed and shipped with care, fully insured. Signature required.
