A decorative pair of vintage Limoges porcelain dishes in whimsical leaf forms, each individually decorated with floral motifs and gilding.
The larger dish has a deeply molded leaf shape with a stem handle, brilliant red border and extensive gold decoration. A warm rust-colored floral bouquet fills the white center, surrounded by scrolling gilt ornament. The underside bears a crowned Limoges France mark.
The smaller dish takes a more sculptural form, with a deep central well surrounded by three projecting leaf or stem points. Delicate pink, blue and purple flowers decorate the pale porcelain exterior, accented by small gilt dots and gold edging. It is marked Limoges France to the underside.
Different in decoration but closely related in scale and form, the two make an appealing assembled pair for a tabletop, vanity or collection of small French porcelain.

Condition
Good vintage condition with age-related surface wear. Scattered wear and losses are present to the gilt decoration, with minor marks and discoloration consistent with age and use. No major damage is apparent in the photographs. Please review photographs closely.

These work particularly well as an assembled pair precisely because they are not identical. One is exuberant—deep red, heavily gilded and almost Rococo—while the other is quieter and more sculptural, with tiny flowers and restrained gold details. Together they have the collected quality of small objects accumulated over time.
