Item Overview
Up for sale is an authentic matching pair of original 1963 Series California Black License Plates (Plate Number: 1CM 025).
**What makes this license plate number unique and rare is a result of the early “1” series, which were desirable for mid-1960s classic vehicles.**. These iconic black-and-yellow stamped steel plates feature original paint, raised lettering, and period character. One plate retains its original vintage 1968 (Pink sticker, #5335392) and 1969 (White sticker, #9256073) California registration decals attached. The matching plate features the stamped ’63 recessed well in the upper corner. Format Accuracy (1CM 025 vs ICM 025)
•On 1963–1969 California passenger vehicle plates, the format strictly used 3 numbers + 3 letters (ABC 123) or 1 number + 2 letters + 3 numbers (1AB 123).•California did not use the letter "I" in standard 6-digit passenger plate sequences to prevent confusion with the number "1". The first character on your plate is a 1 (a digit), making the correct sequence 1CM 025. Key Details & Specifications
