A delightful pair of circa 1900 Capodimonte polychrome porcelain figures, these charming sculptures embody the playful spirit, exceptional craftsmanship, and romantic sensibility for which Capodimonte porcelain has long been celebrated. Finely modeled as frolicking putti—the cherubic children of classical art—each composition captures a moment of youthful innocence and spirited interaction, rendered with remarkable attention to detail and lifelike expression. The figures are beautifully sculpted with graceful poses and animated movement. One group depicts two playful putti engaged in an affectionate embrace beside a basket overflowing with richly colored grapes and fruit, while the companion figure portrays a lively scene of playful mischief as one cherub teases another amidst a harvest of grapes and fruit. Their expressive faces, flowing curls, and naturalistic gestures bring the compositions vividly to life, creating a sense of warmth, joy, and narrative charm. Each figure measures approximately 6.25 inches high, 4.75 inches wide, and 3.75 inches deep. Particularly impressive is the quality of the hand painting. The porcelain surfaces are decorated in soft flesh tones with delicately blushed cheeks, carefully shaded features, and finely detailed eyes. The vibrant clusters of purple grapes, green foliage, golden fruit, and pastel accents provide a striking contrast against the luminous porcelain, while touches of gilding along the bases add an additional layer of refinement.
